Have it repaired. It will save you money. Our Bosch gear was unreliable and its rusted. We bought the Miele gear at the same time - it looks new and has been faultless. The Bosch has had 4 service calls. Probably as expensive as one of the machines cost. All the washer exposed screws are corroded too. There are chips in its paintwork - due to the repair person accessing the dryer, which sits on top. Below the Bosch (top model made in Germany Logixx 8) the machine is rusting. I have dealt with machinery for decades, and motherboards do fail. It is somewhat random. But the chances are by replacing yours, the machine will go on for a decade or more from the age of your machine. Another brand won't.

May I suggest adding the reference number (TR95A3B6BW and AEG series 9000) in the description so it shows easily while searching the web? I've been looking for a new tumble dryer for a while now as I bought a POS Beko (NEVER AGAIN) for 500 euros that has many programs but they all run at the same speed and heat: fast & furious and none is actually different lol. AEG grabbed my eye compared to ALL others including Miele, Asko, Bosch, Whirlpool, Samsung (Samsung is lowest tier I would do). AEG nicely shows in official videos how their dryers uniquely work with features like the one you've shown. Unfortunately, Miele does not. Could you please advise if your previous Miele dryer spun like this? Or is it unique to AEG? I've been looking at the new Bosch series 8 (2024) with alternate rotation but your video convinced me to buy this dryer! I can't find any videos that it actually uses centrifugal energy to keep wools stuck to the walls like AEG. I'm based in Paris, France so I bought the French version; reference: TR95A3B6BW. There's a local website having a sale on this model right now for 754 euros (638GBP). I call it a steal! Can't believe I paid almost the same amount for the Beko.... I'll try to sell it for cheap or give it to the poor 😁. Cheers!

Mine is heat pump Miele - cost half a kidney and it’s the worst product ever. It will barely do one load, constantly beeping clean the damn filter, bought it for its ‘quite’ element. It sounds like a steam train. Had the guy out he said he would have to change the whole drum - never came back. Note to self : I’ll never buy a Miele anything ever again and I’ve been a long time customer. But this is a bad product.

We’ve had Miele washing machines in our family since 1965. Always brilliant. But the last one I had was dreadful. Such a waste of money. Noisy pump. Poor rinsing. Very noisy when spinning. It was perfectly levelled and would literally slip on the floor. Never had this happen before. Worst of all regardless of what I did it stunk!! I love Miele but wouldn’t buy another washing machine. The Bosch I have now is far superior and much cheaper. I suspect it won’t last as long and hasn’t got the build quality. But it is a much better machine. Thank you for a great review

Like you I’m very fussy. I agree a machine of this caliber should have no unusual noises. “The Miele tick” hmm it seems that they all do this. Spin, well yes I’ve gotten used to listening to the increasing sound of a good spin. But half the time it doesn’t like a little unbalanced load. So I have to spin it again. So grateful for your review. I watched your first review on this machine. ( Thank you ) I still love it and all the things it will do. Compared with other brands of the same level, Miele is still by far the best machine. Yes I would buy another. Hopefully this will last the 20 years as indicated.

Normal detergent is to thick and will block the twindos pipes - as a minimum it needs watering down.

Surprisingly, it's very noisy, or is it that just because of filming?

Great review! Back in January, I bought my WCR870 WPS with a huge bundle with TwinDos inclusive at a great deal at a Miele Experience Center. Hey sabistar! Here's some information I found for the ticking sound. I plan on doing this on my machine later this year when the paltry, 1-year warranty for US based Miele machines expires. If you search this issue on RUclips there are some walkthrough videos as well. 1. Lift the machine's plastic lid. Start by removing the two small plastic screw covers on the left and right sides of the lid near the front of the machine. They are flush and I used blue tac to 'suck' them out. I guess you could pry them open but you'll mark the plastic and potentially void the warranty. Unscrew the screws - but not all the way. When the screws are about 60% loose, push them back in together and the lid will release. The lid lifts upwards like a car's hood. 2. Locate the upper spring connection points at the rear of the drum and lubricate them generously. There is one on each side of the drum. You can easily see the right side when you look down, the left side spring is partially covered by the water inlet and control box. At the point where the spring connects with the drum hook you'll see a plastic sleeve/cuff between the hook and the drum. Lubricate the point where they touch. I sprayed several times before the noise disappeared. Only the upper spring connectors make the noise, there is no need to get under the drum. Also, only the rear spring connectors need lubrication, the front connections don't cause the noise. 3. Clean up overspray and replace the lid. I think I may have heard the noise once more after lubricating and then never again. My guess is that the lubricant may take some time to properly infiltrate the point of friction.

The answer is no they're absolute rubbish. Ever since they brought in TwinDos they've gone downhill as the system is very unreliable. Build is about the same but all this technology is making their machines more likely to break faster

This is a memorable video for me, I watched it so many times when I was young, and finally found it..

I have the WEG365 and overall i am happy with it but spinning is a big issue. My old W2652 would spin everything regardless of balance at full speed in exactly 8 minutes. I watch the WEG365 and it can balance the load perfectly on distribution but then stop to re-distribute and then it is always out of balance and takes forever to spin. Sometimes it has said 2 minutes left but stuck like that for 10 minutes still trying to spin. Absolutely ridiculous. I wouldn’t buy another now unless things improve drastically. Even the drum springs on y make a tinny noise when attempting to spin.

I recently purchased my first Miele W/D based on your videos and other online reviews. I was worried about buying a compact because they're not very common here in the States and I was worried it would be too small for my needs. Long story short, capacity isn't the issue- but everything else is! I've not had much luck with the TwinDos system. When she was first delivered, I followed the dosing instructions for soft water (3 tablespoons) and that was WAAAAAAAY too much. I'm now at 1½ tsps./1 tsp for Phase I and Phase 2 respectively, and some loads either finish without any scent of detergent on the clothes (without any suds in the rinse cycle) or there are tons of suds in the rinse cycle, like this morning, when I threw two pairs of jeans in. It's driving me crazy! I have five index cards full of notes stating dosages I've done for each load previously, but it shouldn't be this hard, especially not for how much I paid. I bought the top-of-the-line WXR860 and expected it to be effortless. Boy, was I wrong! There isn't any sudsing when I manually add powdered detergent, negating the purpose of the TwinDos, which was one of the reasons I bought this model to begin with. And don't get me started on the machine's options not matching what's in the manual and/or QuickStart Guide. US models also don't have a load indicator, even though the QuickStart Guide says it does, we don't have the EcoFeedback feature, even though the manual says it does. There are other issues, but I'll stop here. I really want to love her, but I'm at the point where I regret this decision and miss my old top loader.

My old Miele set has been sold. W1 washer 870 with twin dos leaking and sometimes it didn't make the final spin. The T1 dryer had a terrible tickling noise for the price paid. Miele assistant said it was normal due to a metallic sensor. Sold them both. Now I have much cheaper Beko (washer and heat pump dryer) and I'm satisfied. Just waiting my Miele dishwasher breaks down and then I'll be done with them. No more Miele appliances for me.

My previous Miele was 6yrs old, unfortunately the TwinDos leaked, corroding the base plate. Miele condemned the machine and gave me a replacement free of charge. If it wasn’t for the TwinDos leaking, it would still be going, there wasn’t anything wrong with it. They replaced my machine with the WER865WPS, I don’t use the TwinDos in case it leaks again. Been happy with the replacement so far. Have an Miele dryer and it’s developed the annoying ticking sound. Other than the ticking noise it’s a good sturdy machine. The washer has a ticking noise, turned out it wasn’t perfectly balanced. It was coming from the back right hand side of the machine. I raised the back right foot a bit and it’s since stopped

Intresting! Im not really that big fan of miele because of their price but yeah twindos might be an issues as i saw some videos like twindos leaking at the bottom of the machine and that stuff but overall it is good for removing untreated stains

Great review as always. I have the W1 9kg Twin Dos version. The ticking noise you mention, I experience too - sometimes even when the drum is rotating in wash mode. Miele engineer advised it’s normal part of the suspension system ( didn’t have this on my older Miele which I still have now 16 years old working perfectly. Hope I don’t experience dryer problems as purchased recently the Miele T1 8kg Eco/ green energy dryer- so far happy with it but has an annoying tick-tick sound as drum rotates. Had Engineer out to it, advised normal based on new drum design and how the carbon brushes run over drum to activate the sensor dry - didn’t have this same issue on my old Miele T294C dryer. Wish Miele would look at this design issue for future new T1 dryers. Overall happy with the machines. Great build qualify, reliable and do a great job.

Miele were no longer Miele right after they changed their identity with the introduction of W1 in 2014

What I have heard Miele is a great bran but too bad it is very expensive (at least here in Norway). The cheapest is about 12000 NOK and the the most expensive one is almost up to 40000 NOK.

I hope you can show us the other programs like cotton or bedding:) Do you like the AEG ? More than the Miele? I think the Miele is faster and he emitts less moisture. But the programmes from my old protex are useful.

I have this same machine and I hate it. It is so fussy on spinning sometimes gives up and doesnt bother to spin at all. Pump is noisy and all in all I am very dissapointed with it.

witch cycle and option using for mix load? i use mix xl in the compared electrolux same of this with 3d scan 63db and A efficienzy condensing class, 9kg A+++ that is for 6 kg but extra dry seems that they came a littl e dump and 50 degrease celsius so a little strinkage any way, if i live middle dry half sun they still dump... im disappointend and yes is not 63 db at all, i have a beko that is 64db and is much more silence than this 63db

I have this model the US version. I just got it about three weeks now and it does not make any ticking noise. It's smooth as could be.

Do you find it difficult to read the display? Or always have to bend down to program it?

Can’t you put the detergent in the softner compartment and select capdosing ? Since the cap for woolens also contains just wool detergent?

I got the WER865 WPS model yesterday. It replaced a 6yr old Miele washer dryer. The TwinDos had leaked and corroded the base of the machine, because of that they couldn’t repair it and sent a replacement. I’m not using the TwinDos on the new machine. However I’m impressed at how quiet the machine is. My cottons cycle is longer than yours at 2hr 29mins. I used the Eco 40-60 and it does two spins after the main wash before it starts the rinse. I don’t have the ticking sound, but time will tell. I had it on my previous machine, couldn’t work out what it was, though it never bothered me and it wasn’t that loud.

where are you form brother? im a single man too and i love to have everything clean and ordered but you and your house are really the top to wish i keep it like that too! ❤

tryed a coup,e of time this cycle and never more, 2 hours for a couple of woollen and they came out dumb and all wrinked! noway, i put them flat on the hang drier and in 2 hours they are dry naturally!

Unbearable to use. Set a week or two aside to read the instructions. Unnecessarily complicated. Avoid.

I'm in the market for a Tumble Dryer. It's between Miele and AEG for me. You'll probably recommend the AEG over the Miele given your experience.

I preface the following with the fact that I've bought many Miele appliances over the years. I've owned a washer dryer, two ovens, a combination oven, a gas hob, and several vacuum cleaners. Moving overseas was the only reason I still don't have some of those items. I've been in John Lewis and have joined in conversations with potential buyers to sing the praises of my washing machine which has removed stains in clothes that other machines cannot. I've even occasionally perused their vacancies as I felt it was a company I would have pride in working for. In May 2021 I bought the Miele TWR860WP Eco&Steam Wifi&XL tumble dryer. At £2200, this was a great deal more than any other brand on the market. But my history with Miele made me feel safe in the knowledge that I'd be buying an appliance built to last 20 years. In May/June 2023, I noticed water on the floor. As my appliances were stacked I wrongly assumed the water was coming from the washing machine. Some time passed. Then, in order to service my boiler, the dryer was temporarily moved into the lounge. I had the dryer plumbed into a waste outlet in its usual location but in the lounge, the pipe was put into a watering can (it was a temporary fix!). We jokingly called the dryer our new real fire! I then noticed water on the floor once or twice under the machine and mistakenly believed one of my cats had interfered with the watering can. After a time, I realised this wasn't the case and the dryer itself was leaking, I called Miele, and in summary, I had two visits which cost me £350. A pump needed to be replaced. The technician said it was unusual and the first one he had replaced in all his time at Miele. By this time I was almost two months out of the two-year warranty I had. I explained this to Miele. I realised that two years were passed. But I thought the total of £2550 was an awful lot of investment to have such a major fault so soon. It's the cost equivalent of five Bosch heat pump tumble dryers and probably a lot more of a cheaper brand. But having always been loyal to Miele, I persisted with my argument that there were extenuating circumstances, even though the fault had been present by this time for a couple of months anyway. Miele has refused to waive this charge. I will pay it. But Miele's reputation has been damaged by these actions in my view and I reluctantly have decided to go with another brand going forward. A combination of factors led to my delay in reporting this, but lesson learned.
